Doja Cat unveiled the trailer for her latest music video to her single “DEMONS” at a screening at the Hollywood Forever cemetery in Los Angeles.
The track drops this Friday September 1st.
Her current single “Paint The Town Red” is currently #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Doja gave viewers a taste of the spooky new video. The horror movie-inspired trailer co-stars Christina Ricci best known for playing Wednesday Addams in the 1991 movie The Addams Family, as a suburban homeowner whose new house is haunted by a demon played by Doja Cat.
The video follows a spat Doja Cat had with her fans that saw her losing hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers unveiled during a screening of the classic ’80s horror film Poltergeist, which was produced and co-written by Steven Spielberg and directed by The Texas Chain Saw Massacre filmmaker Tobe Hooper.
The video clip appears to be influenced by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s double-feature film event Grindhouse, and it borrowed the movie’s emulation of long-decayed film stock and use of eerie analogue synthesizers.
Doja Cat posted on social media that the new album “Scarlet” is finished and drops on September 22nd but no word on the release date of her official music video.
