The NHL released its 1,312-game schedule with 82 games for each team and starts October 7, 2022 and wraps up on April 13, 2023
The NHL previously announced the Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks will begin the regular season with two games in the 2022 NHL Global Series at O2 Arena in Prague on Oct. 7 and 8 (each at 2 p.m. ET). Those will be NHL’s first games in Europe since 2019, following a two-season break because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Global Series also features 2 games between the Avalanche and the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland, on November 4 and 5th.
The 2022-23 NHL season will begin in North America with the New York Rangers hosting the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday October 11. The Vegas Golden Knights face the Los Angeles Kings and October 12 Boston Bruins face the Washington Capitals.
The Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche will raise their banner on October 12th before their game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Montreal Canadiens will kick off their season at home against Original 6 rival the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday October 12 at the Bell Centre. The Buds will play their first home game the following night on October 13th vs the Washington Capitals on October 13 at the SBA.
The 2022 NHL USA Thanksgiving Showdown doubleheader on TNT on Nov. 25 with the Pittsburgh Penguins visiting the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Arena (5 p.m. ET) and the Lightning hosting the St. Louis Blues at Amalie Arena (7:30 p.m. ET).
The 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic between the Bruins and the Pittsburgh Penguins at Fenway Park in Boston, home of the Boston Red Sox is January. 2, 2023. (2 p.m. ET).
