A street in HAMILTON has the dubious distinction of being named the “WORST ROAD” in Ontario! Congrats Barton Street!
The Canadian Automobile Association released the results of their annual ‘WORST ROADS’ list on Tuesday.
Barton Street East in Hamilton takes the top prize as the worst in the province and four streets in Toronto made the Top 10 of 2022. Congrats Barton Street!
Last year Victoria Road in Prince Edward County was crowned Champion. Eglinton Avenue East claimed the top spot in 2019 and both Eglinton East and West made the Top 10 in 2021 and back again in 2022.
Eglinton Avenue has been a mess by construction for nearly a decade due to the Eglington Crosstown LRT Project. The main section of the LRT is sceduled to be completed by the end of 2022.
Teresa Di Felice, assistant vice president at CAA says “There are different reasons why we see different roads voted on and making it to the top 10. When it comes to Eglinton Avenue West and East, we know there are issues and challenges related to one of the biggest transit infrastructure projects in the country.”
