About
Stewart started his career when he uploaded his first cover of “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel in July 2015. He uploaded many other covers on his YouTube channel ever since then. As of August 2018, his most viewed cover from his YouTube channel is “Havana” by Camila Cabello featuring Young Thug with over 5.9 million views. His first ever unofficial cover was uploaded on a YouTube channel with user name Alec Stewart from which he did a cover of “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars when he was only 13. The video was uploaded on May 24, 2013, from which he was performing at the Quest Alternative School Spring Concert of that year. Another video was uploaded on June 5, 2013, of the same cover of him doing a solo, filmed by his friend Kaya Malcolmson.
His father helps him with most of his covers.
Together with Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider, they put together a mashup of some of the songs of One Direction and Shawn Mendes. The songs used for the mashup include “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Live While We’re Young”, “Drag Me Down”, “The Story of My Life”, “Life of the Party”, “Stitches”, and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back”.
Stewart did a rendition of “Hallelujah” during the 25th Annual Taste of the Danforth.
