On Wednesday November 22nd, Evanov stations ethnic CHLO-AM 530, and Top 40 CIDC-FM Z103.5 hosted a Radiothon to raise awareness and money to benefit the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
Thanks to the generosity of the community the Radiothon raised over $73,000. The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation has an audacious but vital mission: to Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime. Every day, 228 Canadians die of cancer and two in five Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. As one of the world’s top 5 comprehensive cancer centres, Princess Margaret is home to game-changing achievements in research, exceptional patient treatment and care, and a world-class education program.
Evanov Communications Inc.’s President and CEO, Paul Evanov, who personally attended the live morning show broadcast from the Princess Margaret Hospital said: “We are grateful for the contributions and everyone’s effort for this great cause. Z103.5 morning host Sandra Crofford teamed up with afternoon drive host Matt The Hammer while AM 530 Punjabi Lehran’s Navi Sidhu and Satinderpal Sidhu anchored for the South Asian Community who responded in droves. Both radio stations continued the effort throughout the entire broadcast day both on air and online.”
