The 2024 Grammys were chalk full of historic and noteworthy moments. In case you missed it (ICYMI), we’re here to break down some of the most memorable moments from The Grammys last night.
1. Tracy Chapman’s surprise “Fast Car” performance with Luke Combs sent everyone for an emotional throwback. We can’t be the only ones who thought of their mom blasting this velvety hit in the car during the 90’s. Fun fact: at the 1989 Grammys, Tracy won Best Female Pop Vocalist.
2. SZA sending her on-stage dancer into the SKY (via wires) during her performance of Kill Bill. This was CINEMATICALLY timed to perfection, and we did in fact have to pick our jaws up off the floor.
3. Miley Cyrus going OFF during “Love You Better” – we felt like we had a personal glimpse into her soul and it was empowering.
4. Taylor Swift casually and STRATEGICALLY announcing the drop of her next album during her acceptance speech (while simultaneously accepting the ‘Album of the Year’ award, breaking the record to make her the only artist to win this category four times). You can catch “The Tortured Poets Department” album drop on April 19th.
5. Jay Z’s vulnerable and influential speech during his acceptance of the Dr. Dre Impact Award, saying on stage: “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady (Beyonce), but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won album of the year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.”
