Giving Tuesday is a global day dedicated to giving back. On November 28, 2023, people across Canada and the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage generosity.
This Giving Tuesday, Unison is fundraising for the gift of recovery and necessary living essentials for Canadian music workers in need, and we can’t do it without your help. We invite you to use your influence to impact the lives of music workers in need positively.
Unison is committed to providing emergency financial support and counselling services to those who dedicate their lives to the world of music. Music workers change our lives, and your support of Unison can help change theirs. Let’s show our music community how much we care this Giving Tuesday.
How you can help
On Giving Tuesday, we kindly request your support in sharing our mission with your audience. By posting on our behalf, you can help us raise awareness and vital funds to continue our mission of supporting music workers in their times of need.
Support Unison with PLUS
Unison is happy to partner with PLUS, a Montreal-based organization that empowers music-makers and enthusiasts to make a difference collectively. Are you or one of your clients/collaborators planning a tour? Artists can partner with PLUS1 to donate $1 from each ticket sold directly to Unison, contributing to our programs and services. This is also a great way to educate and involves fans in our cause.

Why support The Unison Fund this #GivingTuesday?
Unison has been providing critical support to the Canadian music community for over a decade. Our services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical, and mental health-related emergencies so there is always hope in times of crisis.
With a record-breaking number of music workers reaching out for financial and mental health services, funding to support Unison’s programs is critical to the survival and well-being of many in our industry.
Unison has provided counselling services and support to over 1,500 individuals, with a 38% increase in urgent mental health crisis intervention support requests in 2022.
Last year, Unison disbursed financial support to over 7,000 Canadian music workers through the Live Music Workers Fund with the Canadian Department of Heritage funding.
Unison’s membership has increased by 544%, with a simultaneous 238% increase in financial support applications. This increase has been accompanied by the challenging reality that our donations have decreased by over 60%.
The need from the music community for our programs & services continues to grow.
