Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff thanked fans for making their 2019 song Cruel Summer topping the charts 4 years after it’s original release on the album LOVER.
The track has finally reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, four years and two months after it made its first appearance.
Thanks to the reponse of the song during her recent concert tour and the ERA TOUR in theatres and 2 new remixes the song has constantly grown and now reach the top of the musical mountain.
Taylor and her frequent collaborator commented on the track’s delayed success in an Instagram video. Jack dropped an F bomb in excitement and said “The song that we said was the best song, but we thought, ‘Oh, you know what? This will be our secret best song.’ That’s what we thought.” Taylor added, “We just wanted to say thank you so much for making Cruel Summer a Hot 100 #1, and it’s not even summer anymore. It’s deep fall, I’m wearing a sweater.”
