The late Princess Diana’s wardrobe remains in high demand — her famous sheep sweater just sold to the highest bidder for over $1.1 million, making it the world’s most expensive sweater.A big time bidding war started for the famed red and white sweater at Sotheby’s Fashion Icon auction –it lasted 15-minutes yesterday with 44 bids, jacking the price tag from $190,000 to $1,143,000. Cha Ching!Princess Diana first wore the sweater back in 1981. She often like to help local British designers. The sweater picture landed on every paper and news outlet in the world. Diana actually tore the sweater along the wrist, while attending a polo match.This is interesting, the sheep sweater sat in the owners attic for more then 40 years until this spring, when co-founder Joanna Osbornerediscovered it while searching for a different pattern … and decided to auction it off.
