After weeks of rumors Joe Jonas has officially filed for divorce from wife Sophie Turner after four years of marriage, stating in paperwork that their relationship is “irretrievably broken.”
Joe submitted the paperwork to end his marriage to the Game of Thrones actress in a Miami Dade County courtroom yesterday.
Court documents revealed that the pair’s two children have been “residing with their father in Miami and other locations throughout the United States.” He has asked for joint custody.
The couple met in 2016, engaged in 2017 and got married in Las Vegas in 2019.
Joe has tried to salvage their marriage but the two have very different lifestyles. Joe enjoys staying at home while Sophie loves to go out and party.
According to a report in TMZ Joe saw or heard something with Sophie that was the last straw in his decision to file for divorce and involves a ring camera.
The pair have broken their silence and posted a joint statement on Joe’s Instagram “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicable end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children”
