Sean “Diddy” Combs will be honored at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
MTV VMAS announced that Diddy will receive the Global Icon Award at the awards show on Tuesday September 12 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. “Proud to announce that @diddy is receiving the 2023 GLOBAL ICON AWARD!! 🏆 Join us as we celebrate his LEGENDARY career at the #VMAs, Tuesday September 12 on @mtv!️”
The Global Icon Award celebrates an artist or band whose “unparalleled career and continued influence have achieved a unique level of global success in music and beyond.” Combs will also perform at the VMAs, along with Demi Lovato, Karol G, Doja Cat, Anitta, Kelsea Ballerini, K-pop groups Stray Kids and TXT, and other artists.
Sean Combs is nominated for 4 awards at this year’s ceremony, including Best Rap and Best R&B.

Usher, Dj Khaled, French Montana, Ty Dolla, Shenseea and Diddy’s daughters D’lila, Jessie and Chance all expressed their love and congratulated him on receiving the Global Icon Award.
Last week it was announced that Shakira will be honoured with the Video Vanguard Award
