LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
The first 2 games of Round 2 are in Toronto on Tuesday and Thursday then the scene shifts to Sunrise Florida for Game 3 and 4.
Florida Panthers are trying to avoid a hostile takeover by LEAFS NATION at the FLA LIVE Arena in Sunrise Florida
Tickets for Panthers home games went on sale on this morning at 11am but purchases are restricted to residents of the United States.
The Ticketmaster website linked to the Panthers’ site, a tab outlined sales requirements. “FLA Live Arena is located in Sunrise, Florida. Sales to this event will be restricted to residents of the United States. Residency will be based on credit card billing address. Orders by residents outside of the United States will be cancelled without notice and refunds given.”
More specific info was added to the tab later in the day “The pre-sale will end on May 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. Resale tickets are available for all buyers.”
A team spokesperson said U.S. residents would be given first access to tickets for 24 hours, starting Monday morning. “Anyone can purchase tickets on the secondary markets today,” according to Adelyn Biedenbach, the Panthers’ vice-president of communications.
This rule doesn’t exist on the secondary market where Panthers season-ticket holders can make some money off patriotic Canadian Snowbirds and hardcore Leafs fans who want to cheer on the Buds on the road.
The Vegas Golden Knights face the Edmonton Oilers in the second round but no restrictions placed on ticket sales for that second round series.
This is the first time the Leafs and Panthers will meet in the NHL Playoffs.
The Buds are 13 Time Stanley Cup Champions but haven’t won since 1967. The Panthers were the Presidents Trophy Winner in 2022 but eliminated early and have never won Lord Stanley’s Cup!
Game 1 is Tuesday night at 7pm at the Scotiabank Arena where ticket prices are expected to be through the roof on the after market.
