We knew Harry and Megan were invited but Royal watchers have been waiting pattiently to see if they would accept. The rumours and speculation is now over! Prince Harry will attend alone and join more than 2,000 guests at Westminster Abbey on May 6. Members of the Royal Family, public figures, world leaders and 450 representatives of charities and community groups will be in attendance for the coronation of King Charles and Camila.
This will be the first time Harry will been seen with the Royal Family since his controversial memoir, Spare was released.
Prince Harry’s book and an earlier Netflix series highlighted worries about negative media coverage towards Meghan and had warned of a lack of support from his family.
Buckingham Palace broke the news Wednesday, saying they were “pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.” They added that “The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
Prince Harry and Meghan issued a similiar statement “The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
Prince Archie celebrates his 4th birthday on May 4th.
Prince Harry is no longer a “working royal” so we shall wait and see what role he will play in the coronation ceremony.
Is this a good decision that Harry accepted and is going alone? Would you have prefered the entire family attend or none of them? Join the conversation on our social media pages.
