Dwayne Johnson revealed in message from O’ahu, Hawaii where he spent time growing up that a live-action reimagining of Disney Animation’s 2016 hit feature film “Moana” is in the works and talked about his love and family history and connection to the area. Johnson will reprise his role as Maui in the movie.
In Disney’s annual shareholder meeting with CEO Bob Iger, DJ was featured in a special pre-recorded message to announce the news of “Moana”
The video message featured The Rock with his 2 youngest daughters Jasmine and Tiana and said “As you know, Hawaii means so much to my family and me, and the traditions of our ‘ohana, or ’aiga,’ as we say in Samoa, were shaped by these incredible islands.” He said the Pacific Islands inspired “a very special story,” and his daughters revealed that that story was “Moana.” “We are so happy and excited to announce that a live-action reimagining of ‘Moana’ is in the works,” he announced. Johnson will be reviving the role, and as he went on to share that much of the original inspiration for the character came from his own late grandfather, “the legendary High Chief, Peter Maivia.”

On Saturday Ther Rock gave some words of wisdom to current WWE Superstars comepting at Wrestlemania 39 at SOFI Stadium in Inglewood California. He also praised Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes and his family members and thanked everybody in WWE inside the squared circle and behind the scenes. Of course he thanked the millions and millions of fans who support pro wrestling and sports entertainment. On 2 occassions during his message The Rock hints towards a possible return somewhere “down the road….maybe…just maybe” Do You Smell What The Rock Is Cooking?
