The world has experienced some tough times over the past few years from a global pandemic, lockdowns to struggles with inflation and mental healthwars, crisis and conflicts around the globe but we still find ways to smile and be happy!
For the 6th year in a row Finland is the happiest country in the world according to the World Happiness Report
The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network showed Finland scored “significantly ahead of all other countries” in the ranking followed by Denmark in second and Iceland in the third place.

The global survey draws data from people in more than 150 countries. Countries are ranked on happiness based on their average life evaluations.
Monday March 20 was officially International Day of Happiness, a day designated by the United Nations marking its 10th anniversary.
International Day of Happiness is as a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. Happiness is a fundamental human goal. The United Nations General Assembly recognizes this goal and calls for “a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the happiness and well-being of all peoples.”
European countries dominated the Top 10 ranking.
Canada is the happiest country in North America up 2 notches from 15 in 2022 to 13 in 2023 ranking.
Israel moved up to 4 this year from 9 last year. The Netherlands is at Number 5, Sweden at 6, Norway at 7, Switzerland 8, Luxembourg 9 and New Zealand rounds out the Top 10 happiest countries in the world
The United States is 15 and the United Kingdom was Number 19 on the list.
