Exactly one year ago today on February 1, 2022 Tom Brady announced he was retiring after 22 seasons in the NFL to spend more time with his wife Gisele and 3 kids. A few weeks later Tom 44 at the time decided to play one more season with the Tampa Bay Bucs but lost 31-14 to the Cowboys during Super Wild Card Weekend. Tom and Gisele have since divorced but their children remain the top priority.
Today February 1, 2023 45 year old Tom Brady officially retired after 23 seasons and announed it via Instagram “I’m retiring…..for good”
Tom made the short annoncement on the beach in Miami and said “you only get one super emotional retirement essay” and he used that up last year. Clearly this was a difficult decision and at times Brady choked up and got emotional and held back the tears.
Tom thanked all the fans for their support, his family, friends, teammates and his competitors and said “thank you guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream, I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you all.”
Tom Brady was offered a job previously as a broadscaster with FOX. We shall see if he starts his new career immediately or in the 2023-24 season or takes some time off before he jumps into a new venture. Tom can coach, write a book, star in movies, endorse products, start a sports fashion line, be a social media influencer or anything else he wants to do. The possibilties are endless!
Brady is a future first ballot Hall of Famer eligible in 2028 and will go down in history as one of if not the greatest NFL Quarterback of all time! The GOAT won 6 Super Bowl Championships with the New England Patriots and 1 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
