As promised, Paramount Pictures has premiered the new full trailer for “Scream VI” ahead of the film’s opening in cinemas in a few weeks. Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return as directors.
Set shortly after the latest Ghostface killings in last year’s “Scream,” the four survivors – Sam (Melissa Barrera), Tara (Jenna Ortega), Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad (Mason Gooding), leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter in New York City.
However, the big city may end up being less safe when a new killer emerges, and they’re now in a place where people mind their own business and often won’t be there to help. Plus, a masked killer could be anyone, especially in a large urban populous.
The new film is expected to deal with the group’s trauma from the events of the last film, boast a lot more gore than previous entries, and exploits its New York setting to offer scares quite different from previous entries.
This matches comments from original “Scream” scribe Kevin Williamson the other week, who called it a “big, huge, fresh reinvention and he’s a big fan of what they’ve done with this new take.
“Scream VI” will be released exclusively in cinemas on March 10th.
