50 CENT and EMINEM developing an “8 MILE” TV Series and EM Turned Down a $9 Million Offer To Perform in Qatar
50 Cent and Eminem revealed they are in the process of developing an “8-mile” TV show. 50 said “We’re in motion. It’s gonna be big … You know I ain’t got no duds.”
“8 mile” is about an up-and-coming rapper — played by Eminem — in Detroit as he tries to jump-start his career. Since its release, the soundtrack has dominated the billboard charts. According to the 50 Cent, it took very little convincing for the “The Real Slim Shady” singer to get on board with the idea for a TV series. “I think it should be there for his legacy, because if you don’t see … it’s important to me that they understand it,”
FITTY also said that the TV show will not be an exact copy of the 2002 film, comparing his upcoming series to the reimagined “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reboot that aired in 2022. No word on a release date as of yet.
Eminem jumped on this concept but 50 Cent said that EM declined a $9 Million offer to perform together recently at the World Cup in Qatar. In 2022 50, EM, Mary J Blige, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson,Paak performed live at the Super Bowl 56 Halftime Show.
50 said he would have taken $1 Million and $8 to Eminem but wasn’t interested in performing in Qatar. 50 Cent didn’t mention during the Big Boy’s Neighbourhood Radio Show why EM declined but considering the issues and problems and the history of Qatar there are many possible reasons including their human rights records, discrimination against women and deaths of migrant workers who built the stadiums for the tournament.
