CELINE DION Snubbed on ROLLING STONE’S List of The 200 GREATEST SINGERS OF ALL TIME!
Rolling Stone has updated its 100 Greatest Singers list from 2008 with its new 200 Greatest Singers Of All Time.
The Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin was #1 on the list followed by Whitney Houston, Sam Cooke, Billie Holiday and Mariah Carey rounds out Top 5.
Shockingly Celine Dion who recently revealed she was diagnosed with “stiff-person syndrome,” a condition that affects one in a million people was snubbed and fans are outraged including Brandon Hilton who said leaving Celine off this list is “a crime against humanity

Tony Bennett, Cher, Madonna, Janet Jackson Pink and Bruno Mars failed to make the list too.
Music is subjective so the Rolling Stone List is bound to spark discussions, debates and controversy just like when they named Harry Styles “The King of Pop” a label always associated with the legendary Michael Jackson who was ranked at 86 on the Greatest Singers List.
Toronto’s very own The Weeknd was ranked 110 and Quebec’s Leonard Cohen at 103.
Rosalia kicked off the list at 200, Billie Eilish at 198, Kelly Clarkson at 194, SZA at 180, Lana Del Rey at 175, Taylor Swift at 102, Elton John 100, Rihanna was ranked 68, Lady Gaga at 58, Arianna Grande at 43 and my personal fav Paul McCartney at 26 with fellow Beatles member the late John Lennon at #12.
Rolling Stone wrote in their article “You might notice that, say, there isn’t any opera on our list — that’s because our purview is pop music writ large, meaning that almost all the artists on this list had significant careers as crossover stars making popular music for the masses.”
“Before you start scrolling (and commenting), keep in mind that this is the Greatest Singers list, not the Greatest Voices List. Talent is impressive; genius is transcendent. Sure, many of the people here were born with massive pipes, perfect pitch, and boundless range. Others have rougher, stranger, or more delicate instruments. As our write-up for the man who ended up at Number 112 notes, Ozzy Osbourne doesn’t have what most people would call a good voice, but boy does he have a great one.”
“In all cases, what mattered most to us was originality, influence, the depth of an artist’s catalog, and the breadth of their musical legacy. A voice can be gorgeous like Mariah Carey’s, rugged like Toots Hibbert’s, understated like Willie Nelson’s, slippery and sumptuous like D’Angelo’s, or bracing like Bob Dylan’s. But in the end, the singers behind it are here for one reason: They can remake the world just by opening their mouths.”
In a separate on Twitter and Instagram Story on January 3, RS urged fans to vote “on some of its placements” on its official Instagram account. “Have an opinion on our ‘The Greatest Singers of All Time’ list? Of course you do. Head to @RollingStone’s Instagram Story to vote on some of the list’s placements and see what others think.”
