Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny was declared the most streamed artist of the year on Spotify and also made history as the highest-grossing concert tour in 2022 with $435.38 million USD across 81 shows and surpassed the previous record, set by Ed Sheeran in 2018 with $432.3 million USD Global Divide tour.
Bad Bunny is the first Latin act, and first act who doesn’t perform in English, to finish atop Billboard’s year-end Top Tours chart.
Bad Bunny started 2022 with an arena tour, El Ultimo Tour Del Mundo, that included a show in Toronto and performed in stadiums on the World’s Hottest Tour. There were also three standalone concerts in his native Puerto Rico this past summer.
Ed Sheeran sold more concert tickets than any other artist in 2022. More than 3 million tickets sold for 52 shows on The Mathematics Tour, which ran from April 23 to Sept. 25. Sheeran was the third-highest grossing touring act of 2022 and Elton John was #2 followed by Harry Styles, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Def Leppard, Kenny Chesney and The Weeknd rounds out the Top 10.
