The coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy is set to be revealed during a ceremony at 11am at Pearson International Airport.
The 14.5-inch tall trophy, which weights just over 13 pounds will then be taken to BMO Field this afternoon for a sold-out “fan activation” event, VIP reception and fireside chat with soccer and football icons.
The FIFA World Cup Tour presented Coca-Cola and will see the trophy brought to all 32 countries that have qualified for this year’s tournament. It recently made stops in LA, Dallas and New York and today in Toronto.
Brazil is currently ranked #1 in the Coca-Cola Rankings followed by Belgium, Argentina, France and England. Italy is ranked 6th but failed to qualify for World Cup 2022. Spain, Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark round out the Top 10. Canada enters the prestigious tournament ranked Number 41.
The World Cup kicks off November 20 in Qatar with host country facing Ecuador on opening day.
Canada is in Group F along with Belgium, Croatia and Morocco and play Belgium on November 23rd.
Canada Soccer will officially announce the Men’s National Team roster on November 13th.
Canada’s Men’s National Team has never scored a goal or won a game and made their first appearance in the 1986 World Cup.
This team has impressed fans and critics worldwide with their style and passion to play the Beautiful Game! We hope Alphonso Davies of FC Bayern will be ready to play after recently suffering an injury.
Go Canada Go! WE CAN!
