Hip Hop Artist, Producer, Actor COOLIO Dies at 59
Sad to hear one of the biggest and most successful hip-hop artists of the 1990’s COOLIO who won a Grammy Award for his 1995 hit song “Gangsta’s Paradise” which appeared on his second studio album of the same name and soundtrack of the movie Dangerous Minds starring Michelle Pfeiffer passed away at a friend’s house at the age of 59.
Coolio’s talent manager, Sheila Finegan said “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away Wednesday afternoon. He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”
Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez, says Coolio went to the bathroom at his friend’s house, but when he didn’t come out after a while … the friend kept calling for him, and eventually went in and found Coolio laying on the floor.
Coolio was immortalized as a Claymation figure in the highly successful “Lipton Brisk” beverage commercials. His character appears with Elvis and the Godfather of Soul James Brown in commercial sketch.
Thank You for the memories and the music. Rest In Paradise Coolio
