Monday Night Football Teamed Up With Marshmello For A Remix of ‘Heavy Action’ and Named Music Curator for 2022-23 NFL Season.

:Mello Made It Right” There’s a new twist this season to the legendary Monday Night Football Theme Song!

ABC/ESPN enlisted International DJ/Producer/Artist Marshmello to remix the classic anthem!

“Heavy Action” made it’s debut Monday night September 12 on ESPN, ABC, ESPN2 and ESPN+ during the season opener that saw the Seattle Seahawks defeat former QB Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos 17-16.

Mello’s forthcoming track “Grown Man,” is a collaboration with Southside and Polo G

The Monday Night Football‘s iconic “Heavy Action” theme has never officially been remixed since its inception. The song was composed by Johnny Pearson in 1970 and a mainstay on the MNF broadcast since 1975.

Kevin Wilson, ESPN’s Creative Music Director, said in a statement. “Our goal was to take the classic ‘Monday Night Football’ music and add a contemporary vibe to it. To get there, we wanted to enlist an artist, a move we have never previously done with Heavy Action remix.”

Marshmello said “Working with ESPN is a dream come true as Monday Night Football and the NFL have been a part of my life ever since I can remember. Having the opportunity to put my own spin on an iconic song that NFL fans everywhere recognize was an amazing opportunity.”

Marshmello will curate the music during the 2022-23 NFL MNF Season and follows in the footsteps of Diplo in 2019, Dj Khaled in 2020 and Drake in 2021.
