The 37 year old Canadian from Napanee is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album “Let Go,” which launched her career with the single “Complicated.”
Lavigne says she hopes her star will inspire the next small-town 16-year-old who –quote — “comes to Hollywood one day full of hopes and dreams.”
She said, “This was the best day of my life!” The photo is a reenactment of when she first came to Hollywood at age 16. She wore the same hoodie again, 20 years later!

Lupita Sanches Cornejo, chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce was the EMCEE of the ceremony at 6212 Hollywood Blvd and Machine Gun Kelly was the guest speaker and expressed his love for Avril and the impact she has made on his life and career and her importance to fans around the world.
Avril is the 2731st star on the HWOF.
