FIFA announced TORONTO and VANCOUVER have been selected as host cities for World Cup 2026! Edmonton was in the running but was not chosen.
The tournament will be the first-ever to be shared by 3 different countries in 16 different venues across 16 cities including 11 in the United States, 2 in Canada and 3 in Mexico.
The tournament’s western region host cities are Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles and Guadalajara.
The central region host cities will be Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Monterrey and Mexico City.
The east region games will be played in Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami and New York/New Jersey.

BC Place and BMO Field will need upgrades with Vancouver set to install a grass playing field and Toronto expected to expand the stadium’s capacity to the FIFA minimum of 40,000 or possibly 45,000 seats according reports.
This will be the biggest WORLD CUP with 48 Teams and 80 Fixtures and expected to break attendance records held by USA in 1994 with 3.6 Million Fans in 52 matches.
10 Games will be played in Canada, 10 in Mexico and 60 Games will in the USA including the World Cup Final in July 2026. Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca which hosted the 1970 and 1986 finals will become the first stadium to hold events in 3 World Cups.
The 2022 World Cup will feature 32 Teams and is scheduled for November 21 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar.
Brazil is currently ranked Number 1 followed by Belgium, France, Argentina and England. Italy the reigning EURO CUP Champions are ranked 6th but for the 2nd straight tournament failed to qualify for WC 2022. Canada is currently ranked Number 38 in the world.
