RITA MORENO JOINS “FAST X” CAST AS VIN DIESEL’S GRANDMOTHER
The Oscar winning RITA MORENO has appeared in many iconic films including Singin’ in the Rain (1952), The King and I (1956) and the 1961 and 2021 film adaptations of West Side Story.
Vin Diesel announced via Instagram that the legendary 90 year old Puerto Rican actress, singer, dancer Rita Moreno will be starring in Fast X as his grandmother. “It’s been my dream forever to work with Rita Moreno and the fact that she’s here playing my grandmother makes my soul smile. I’m so blessed.”
Diesel posted a video with Moreno and fellow Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez. Moreno said “I think my old age was waiting for you to invite me.” She went on to say she is “tickled… so thrilled… it’s gonna be such fun.”
Fast X, the 10th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise is scheduled to hit theaters on May 19, 2023.
