Rising filmmaker Mark Molloy, famed for his Apple commercials, will step in to replace Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah as director of the fourth entry in the “Beverly Hills Cop” franchise for Netflix.
Eddie Murphy is expected to reprise his role of Detroit cop Axel Foley in the film with Jerry Bruckheimer also returning to produce the long-gestating sequel which moved from Paramount to the streamer in 2019.
El Arbi and Fallah parted ways to work on HBO Max’s “Batgirl” film which recently wrapped production. The fourth “Beverly Hills Cop” has been stuck in development for years and still no production start date has been set out as yet.
