Toronto Mayor John Tory declared April 3 “Kyle Lowry Day” as the basketball super star was welcomed back to the city that he spent nine years of his career at. Lowry received an emotional two minute standing ovation when introduced into the pack Scotiabank Arena.

While the tribute video for Lowry was very touching for all, not everyone is in agreement of the life-size Kyle Lowry statue that’s been spotted around the city for photo-opts. The statue made its way to Jurassic Park, Nathan Philips Square and Polson Pier.

Some are confused as to why the statue looks nothing like Lowry as his physical and facial features aren’t very accurate.

A video about the statue was shared says, “they will build a permanent statue for you one day. Maybe it will immortalize a charge or capture that fire we fell in love with. But your true legacy, Kyle, was making us believe.”
Statues are for legends.
And @Klow7 will get his one day.
