Kanye West will no longer be performing at Coachella this year, leaving the festival with an open headliner spot. It’s unclear if Travis Scott, who was suppose to join Ye on stage, will still be making an appearance still.
Sources close to the rapper say that West made the decision to back out a week before the two weekend festival. Reason behind West’s decision still remains unknown, but he’s clearly had a tough few months.
After lashing out at ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her new bf, Pete Davidson all over social media, he also hurled racial slurs at Trevor Noah on Instagram which lead to his account being suspended.
Kanye’s cancellation leaves Coachella with an open headliner spot. Travis Scott was suppose to headline in 2020 before it was cancelled due to COVID. Travis was later booked for 2022, but Coachella directors pulled the plug on that idea after the Astroworld tragedy. Travis has not performed in a large capacity since.
After Travis’ months long social media hiatus, he has launched Projects HEAL which is there to help the families of the young fans who died of compassion asphyxia due to the crowd surge in Houston.
