A few years ago, Los Angeles Laker fan favourite LeBron James changed the life of many underprivileged children when he started the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio. Working with the Akron public school system, the LeBron James Family Foundation provide students a stable school plan to reduces the rate of students dropping out of school in James’ hometown.
In the past, James has received generous donations from members from his old team members on the Cleveland Cavaliers team, Ellen DeGeneres, Kobe Bryant and now Drake has promised to make a donation to James’ school.
Over the weekend, James celebrated Drake’s launch of Lobos 1707 tequila and mezcal brand. During the small celebration, Drake made the announcement that he would be donating $1 million to the I Promise School.

At the start of 2019-20 school year, James announced that he secured a partnership with Walmart to provide school supplies for the students attending I Promise. LeBron continues to do a lot for this school to ensure that all children in the I Promise School continue to receive a great education.
