YouTube is launching a new music streaming service to compete with Apple Music and Spotify. Starting Tuesday, users in some countries (including the US) will get access to a free or premium version of the service, called YouTube Music. Canada will likely be include in the second phase roll out in early June. Like Spotify, the premium ad-free subscription service is priced at $9.99 per month. The service will launch in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea on May 22. The Google-owned company has also rebranded its YouTube Red service which will become YouTube Premium and cost $11.99 per month. Previously it was possible to have premium video services on their own through Red, but the YouTube Premium will also include YouTube Music as standard.
