Khalifa’s vid was dropped on April 5, 2015 and racked up over 1 billion views in its first six months on the video streaming site. “See You Again” was and still is a very emotional track. Featured on the Furious 7 soundtrack, its video served as a tribute to the movie’s late actor Paul Walker, who ironically died in a car accident in 2013.
The music video for “Gangnam Style” previously held the highest-viewed YouTube video spot with 2,894,426,475 views. But, the visual for “See You Again” now has 2,895,373,709 views and counting. Khalifa reached this achievement by the skin of his teeth! We’re not sure exactly how long this milestone will be in the rapper’s possession. Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” video has already racked up 2.5 billion views in just six months, since its release in Jan. 2017.
