What’s Open And Closed For The Thanksgiving Long Weekend

Welcome to the Thanksgiving long weekend. Monday is a holiday so be sure to get your grocery and alcohol shopping done by Sunday. Most stores will be closed on Monday. Here is a list of what is open and closed on holiday Monday:

Closed:

  • The Beer Store and the LCBO
  • Government offices
  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • Post offices
  • Most grocery stores and pharmacies
  • Some Malls (see below).

Open:

  • Gas stations
  • Restaurants
  • Businesses in “designated tourist areas”
  • Farms that offer apple and pumpkin picking

Transit:

  • The TTC will operate on a holiday schedule
  • Go Transit will run on a Sunday schedule

Fun things to do:

Movie theatres are open Monday. Most of the tourist attractions will also be open including: the Royal Ontario Museum, Science Centre, Toronto Zoo, the Hockey Hall of Fame and Ripley’s.

If you are traveling over the border, keep in mind that Monday is a holiday in the U.S. as well. Our American friends are celebrating Columbus Day.
