The saying of “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” certainly rings true here. It’s always amazing to see young talent. Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo’s son Tye is filling in as Korn’s new bass player for the South American stretch of the band’s tour. Korn’s Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu is unavailable so the decision was made to bring in the young musician, really young! 12 year old Tye is stepping in and Korn posted on facebook “We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye. We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May.” Fieldy was forced to abandon the tour due to “unforeseen circumstances is supposed to return May 6 at the Carolina Rebellion festival. Tye is currently a member of The Helmets based in California. He performed with Korn April 17 in Bogota, Colombia and wraps up his epic tour in Lima, Peru April 29.
