Congrats to the 2017 MLS Champions who played to a 1-1 draw against Club America at L’Estadie Azteca in Mexico Tuesday night and won 4-2 on aggregate. Toronto FC advances to the finals of the Scotia Bank Concacaf Champions League and only the third MLS team to reach the finals. Coach Greg Vanney said “I’m extremely proud of the guys that went out there tonight and just battled. They sacrificed for 90 minutes.” Toronto’s very own Osorio scored a goal for TFC at the 12 minute mark. The Reds knocked off two of the top teams from Mexico’s Liga MX including Club America and Tigres and now TFC will meet another Mexican challenger, Club Deportivo Guadalajara, in the two-legged final. Toronto will host Leg One next Tuesday April 17 at BMO Field then Leg Two Tuesday April 24 in Mexico. Guadalajara defeated the York Red Bulls from MLS in the other semifinal 1-0 on aggregate. The next MLS game for TFC is Saturday in Denver against the Colorado Rapids.
