[Video] Actor Scott Wilson Of “The Walking Dead” Fame Passed Away At 76

Fans of “The Walking Dead” are excited about the new season but sad to hear that Scott Wilson who played the role of the beloved patriarch Hershel Greene on the AMC series passed away at the age of 76. His real name was William Delano Wilson and had many credits including In the Heat of the Night, In Cold Blood, The Great Gatsby, Dead Man Walking, Pearl Harbor, and Junebug. He had a recurring role on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as casino mogul Sam Braun, as well as a lead role on the Netflix series The OA as Abel Johnson. His rep Dominic Mancini said Wilson’s death was due to complications from Luekemia. Mancini called Wilson “a national treasure, a calm voice and a gentle spirit to everyone who came in contact with him.” He passed away peacefully at his home in L.A. “Scott will be missed.” All over social media fans and fellow actors have sent their love and condolences. The Official Walking Dead Twitter account posted the sad news ” We are deeply saddened to report that Scott Wilson, the incredible actor who played Hershel on , has passed away at the age of 76. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in paradise, Scott. We love you!” The Season 9 season premiere is tonight and will consist of 16 episodes, split into two parts each consisting of eight episodes with the latter half airing in early 2019. Although Wilson met his onscreen demise in the fourth season of the show Brandon Davis from ComicBook.com said he would appear during this season but no details were given. Angela Kang revealed during”TWD” New York Comic-Con panel on Saturday that Wilson was set to appear on the new season and filmed his scenes prior to his death. R.I.P. Scott
