Toronto air travel authorities announced new rules today finally allowing ride sharing services to pick up passengers directly from Pearson Airport.
Starting today, passengers can order an UberX or Lyft to pick them up on the Arrivals level of Terminals 1 & 3 at Pearson.

Before today, only Uber Black, Uber’s luxury car service, was allowed into Pearson. Users of the lower-tiered UberX or Lyft had to walk with their luggage out to the street to order the service.
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority announced the great news of its city-approved “pilot project for ride sharing companies” today, explaining that it currently fields an average of 100,000 ride sharing requests per month.
“Following significant demand from our passengers, we believe that a pilot of full ride sharing options is timely at Toronto Pearson, and in line with other airports across Canada and the U.S. already offering this service,” said said GTAA Vice President Scott Collier in a press release Tuesday.
“We appreciate the collaboration of the ground transportation industry in sharing their feedback and welcome another opportunity to offer our passengers choice in their transportation options.”
