Toronto Paramedic And His Partner Killed In Weekend Crash

The OPP are investigating a multi-vehicle crash in Haliburton County that claimed the lives of two paramedics and left two others critically injured. Police say a vehicle crossed the centre line on Highway 118 late Saturday afternoon and crashed into a group of seven motorcyclists. Four of the bikers were hit. Two riders were killed and two others suffered life-threatening injuries. Friends and family identified George Eliadis and Shari Williams as the two killed. Eliadis was a deputy commander with Toronto Paramedic Services. It is not clear what caused the vehicle to cross the centre line and police have not said if charges will be laid.
