Today is International Women’s Day. For anyone not clear on what that is or why it is observed, keep reading. International Women’s Day celebrates women’s achievements throughout history, around the world. It’s also meant to inspire women to recognize their professional, political and entrepreneurial goals and imposes a call to action for accelerating gender parity. This day has been observed since the early 1900’s. International Women’s Day is a collective day of global celebration. While no one government, charity or corporation is solely responsible for International Women’s Day, many organizations declare an annual IWD theme that supports their specific agenda or cause, and some of these are adopted more widely with relevance than others. This year the theme is #PressforProgress. Use that hashtag on social media to share your thoughts. The official hashtag is: #IWD2018.
How will you #PressforProgress in 2018? Commit to a “gender parity mindset” via progressive action. internationalwomensday.com is calling for us all to collaborate to accelerate gender parity, so our collective action powers equality worldwide.
