Tip From The Public Leads Orangeville Police To Impaired Driver

Police say on Monday, October 2, 2017, just after 3 am, they received a call from a staff member of a Buena Vista Drive hotel. The complaint was regarding three males in the parking lot outside of the hotel causing a disturbance. The caller was also concerned that the three males were possibly intoxicated and were about to leave in a vehicle. Police attended the hotel and were not able to locate the vehicle or the males. A short time later the vehicle was located back on Buena Vista Drive and was stopped by police when it entered the hotel parking lot. Police have charged a 21-year-old male of Pelee Island, with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood. The accused is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Court on October 17th.

Orangeville Police tell us they have laid 21 drinking and driving criminal charges so far this year.
