Marvel’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ got off to an incredible start at the domestic box office with the film pulling in an impressive $14.5 million from Thursday sneak previews, putting it on track for an opening weekend in the $100 million neighborhood as expected.
The film has already racked up $164.5 million in its first week in some international markets, and is expected to have earned roughly $400 million worldwide by the end of the weekend. Its domestic preview haul is double that of previous entry ‘Thor: The Dark World’ back in 2011, but it fell short of the $17 million that ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ and the $15.4 million ‘Spider-Man Homecoming’ took in their preview hauls.
‘Ragnarok’ is tied with the first ‘Iron Man’ as the BEST reviewed Marvel film to date, and it also earned a very rare five out of five stars from ComScore/Screen Engine Post Trak audiences, so critics and audiences are both in love, it would seem!
