The 18 Foot Christmas Tree Has Arrived At Nathan Phillips Square

Are you ready for Christmas? Have you started shopping? Too soon? I’m one those last minute shoppers but some people have begun and some are already done. lol I was live on location at The Grand Opening of Kenneth Cole New York yesterday at Vaughan Mills and the entire mall was packed! The 114th Annual Toronto Santa Claus Parade is Sunday November 18 at 12:30pm and CTV will air it at 4:30pm. Halloween is over so the Christmas decorations, commercials, movies and music will kick into high gear. Parades are usually a sign that the holidays are approaching and another early sign is the arrival of the big Christmas Tree at Nathan Phillips Square. According to the CBC  Weller Tree Service delivered the 18-metre white spruce tree yesterday from an area just north of Bancroft, Ontario. The tree doesn’t require watering and will remain on display throughout the holidays, then it will be recycled. Preparations take weeks and it will be lit up during the annual “Cavalcade of Lights” on Saturday November 24th.  There will be many Santa Clause Parades in the next few weeks including the Orangeville Kin Club Parade on Saturday November 17 starting at 4:30pm at Hansen Blvd. and First St, then travel south on First St, along Broadway and end at Rotary Park and the Vaughan SantaFest Parade is Sunday November 25th starting at 2pm. Toronto Mayor John Tory posted a pic of the Christmas Tree and said ” It’s beginning to look a lot like ! Toronto’s 18-metre Christmas tree arrived in today for decorating. The official lighting will take place on Nov 24th for the annual Cavalcade of Lights.” Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays my friends!
