Swim Instructors Act Quickly To Save Lives After Roof Collapse At Schomberg Swim School

Two swimming instructors are being credited with saving the lives of five children and (possibly) preventing a tragedy after the roof of a Swim School collapsed on Saturday afternoon in Schomberg. The two instructors noticed the roof had begun leaking as intense thunderstorms were moving through the area. As water began to pour into the pool area at the George Jacobson Swim School on the 11th Concession, (near Highway 9), the instructors acted quickly to evacuate the five children. Moments after the last child climbed out of the water, the main supporting beam that held up the roof crashed into the water. Police say no injuries were reported.
