‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Tops The Box Office For A Second Weekend

Disney and LucasFilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story directed by Ron Howard starring Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and many more was #1 at the Box Office for the second week in a row but it hasn’t lived up to expectations. Studio estimates say it grossed gross $29.3 million in it’s second weekend, a 65% dip from its first weekend, bringing its domestic total to $148.9 million. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi both eclipsed $148 million within their second day of release while Rogue One crossed that threshold after just three days. Solo brought in an additional $30.3 million internationally, with a worldwide total to $264.2 million after ten days. Deadpool 2 starring Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin was in second spot this weekend with $23.3 million in its third weekend; officially passing Logan, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: The Last Stand to become the second highest grossing X-Men movie of all time domestically (behind the first Deadpool by $110 million). Adrift took third place with $11.5 million Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin.
