Just after 1:30 p.m. on Thursday August 10, 2017, a Caledon OPP officer headed north on Highway 10 in Caledon spotted a black sports car travelling south at a speed well in excess of the posted speed limit.
A short time later, the car was involved in a collision on McLaughlin Road, south of Boston Mills Road. At that time, the OPP notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit, and they invoked their mandate.
McLaughlin Road remained closed until shortly after 3:00 a.m. this morning in order to allow for the motor vehicle collision investigation to take place.
As a result of the OPP investigation, a 32-year old male from Brampton, Ontario has been arrested and is now facing charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Flight from Police; Failure to Comply with a Probation Order; and Racing a Motor Vehicle.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Orangeville today for a scheduled bail hearing.
