Sidney Crosby was stuck at 34 goals and went seven straight games without a goal and watched Brad Marchand take over as the NHL’s leading goal scorer but the drought is over for Sid The Kid and he has scored six goals in his past four games, including his 10th career hat trick in Pittsburgh’s 4-0 win over former Leaf James Reimer and the Florida Panthers at home in Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon. Crosby now has 40 goals on the season three more than Marchand and it marks the second time in his career that he’s broken the 40 goal plateau. Crosby also has 10 points including 3 goals and 7 assists in his last five games and is currently tied with Edmonton’s Connor McDavid with 80 points. Last night The Leafs got into the Paddy festive spiriting sporting their vintage Toronto St Patrick (St Pats) jerseys in honour of the Toronto team from (1919-1927.) It’s only the second time since becoming the Maple Leafs that they have worn the throwback shirts and just like in 2002 against The Sabres they lost this time against the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 in OT. Yet another heartbreaking loss in over time. Toronto has 6 OT wins and 1 shootout win and and 7 OT Losses and 8 shootout losses. The Buds will look to bounce back and get on the winning track Monday at 7:30pm at ACC vs The Boston Bruins. As of right now The Leafs still have a wildcard playoff birth one ahead of The NY Islanders and two points ahead of Tampa Lightning in the Eastern Conference.
