Caledon OPP are reminding residents to be aware after a local resident fell victim to a scam.

Police say the victim got a phone call on February 7, 2018 from a male claiming to be a lawyer. The male advised the victim that her daughter was involved in at at fault collision. The caller advised the victim that money was required in order to relieve her daughter of charges. The victim made two payments of $10,000 and $7,000 to the caller.

Caledon OPP would like to remind the public not to send money to anyone you do not know and trust.
