Orangeville Police has arrested and charged a 33-year-old man in connection to the theft of a cash register from a local convenience store on November 13, 2016.
On Sunday, November 13, just before 7 p.m., two suspects attended a convenience store located on Elizabeth Street. One suspect stayed outside of the store while the other suspect entered the store and removed the cash register from the service counter. The two suspects then fled from the scene on foot.
The cash register was located on a driveway of a home a short distance away. Video footage of the incident was captured on the store security cameras and helped police in their investigation.
As a result of their investigation, police were able to identify the suspect responsible for the theft of the cash register.
Police say on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, they arrested and charged a male with Theft Under $5000. The accused male was held in custody pending a bail hearing and later released by the courts. He is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Court again on March 28, 2017.
