Orangeville Gets It – Zero Holiday RIDE Impaired Arrests This Year

Police in Orangeville have released some encouraging numbers related to the battle against impaired driving. During the Festive RIDE program this year, (December 1, 2016 – January 2, 2017), Orangeville Police stopped 4,500 vehicles. Nine roadside breath tests were given and zero motorists were charged with impaired driving.

Unfortunately, 5 people were charged with impaired related offenses in December, but they were discovered during routine patrols. During the 2015 holiday RIDE season, 5,686 motorists were stopped. Nine roadside breath tests were given and only one seven-day licence suspension was issued.
