OPP Slowly Scaling Back Search Efforts For Missing Toddler

Over the next few days, Dufferin OPP will slowly begin scaling back the search efforts  since three-year old Kaden Young was swept away in the floodwaters of the Grand River early on February 21, 2018.

With mild weather remaining in the long range forecast, the OPP will be continually reassessing the conditions along the 13 km stretch from Waldemar to Belwood Lake that has been the focus of the search since the flood waters began to subside.

“The OPP stresses the importance of all volunteer searchers to be careful and cautious along the banks of the Grand River as the conditions along the river are constantly changing” says PC Paul Nancekivell

A female helping in the search had to be rescued after she fell through the ice.

If you locate anything, you are asked to Call OPP at 1-888-310-1122
